Press review: Be popular at work

I have recently been reading an article titled “Be popular at work” in an edition of Business Spotlight of March 2017 and it talks about the best ways how to collaborate with colleagues at work.
I thought you might be interested in this text because we all need to work at a company some day and this information will probably help you to acclimatise in a new working environment.

Basically, what it says is that you should make your workplace as acceptable as possible. because you spend most of your time with your colleagues than with your family at home. The author pointed out six facts about how to treat your colleagues and how to stay positive and polite at work.
The first statement in the text is, to respect other people’s time. You will get extremely unpopular if you interrupt your colleagues during their work. It is also said that you should not pop into their office all the time. Ask them if they are free to talk. Form your questions as short as possible so you don’t waste the others time unless you don’t want to have a bad reputation.
The author also mentioned that it is very important to keep your emails polite. Formulate the mails objectively and succinctly. Never make nasty comments about your colleagues because one wrong mail can ruin the group cohesiveness.
It is also mentioned in the article to not complain to a colleague’s supervisor. If there is a problem between you and your co-worker you should speak directly to him.
Another important thing the author mentioned in the text is to listen. When you listen to your team members they will notice that you are interested in what they say, and will feel very proud and welcomed.
The last fact in the article is to support others. Before you are bored at work because you have nothing to do, ask your co-workers if they need help.
What surprized me the most was that when you need help you should try to solve your problems yourself and not ask your colleagues or business contacts to help you.

I think that the author pointed out some very good tips how to collaborate with the people at your work. If you stay positive and have a good charisma you will be much more likely to go to work. I think when you stay friends with your co-workers you will have much more fun at the company you work for and the day will pass by much faster.

What do you think? How would you collaborate with colleagues?
